Leanne Ellis

 

Hi there! I am Leanne Statland Ellis, the GATE English teacher at Lincoln Hall. This is my 18th year teaching in Lincolnwood and my 30th year teaching overall. I have worked with third through eighth graders over the years.

 

I hold a bachelor's degree in anthropology and music performance from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Education from Northwestern University.

 

A little about me ... I went to school here in Lincolnwood. I attended Lincolnwood schools K-8 and graduated from Niles West High School. I participated in the gifted programming throughout my time in the Lincolnwood schools, and I vividly remember how important it was to me growing up. In fact, it played a huge role in my decision to specialize in gifted education. When my former teacher retired back in 2007, it felt very right and fitting when I took her place to help with the programming that meant so much to me as a student. I’m also an avid reader and a children’s author. This position perfectly combines my love of teaching and literature. It truly is my privilege to help educate the next generation of Lincolnwood students.
