Hello Families,

For the past 24 years, I've had the privilege of teaching fourth grade to some wonderful students. This year, I have the honor of teaching 3-5 GATE reading. I am thrilled that I will be working with a group of creative, inquisitive, and articulate students. 

 

I received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a bachelor's degree in elementary education from North Park University, a master's degree in teaching and leadership from St. Xavier University, and a master's degree in technology from Concordia University. I am also endorsed in gifted education.

 

My goals as a reading teacher are to nurture the students' love of reading, include a variety of genres in our classroom, and provide opportunities to think critically about text. I want students to be independent readers, writers, and thinkers who effectively communicate their ideas through writing and speaking. I am committed to helping students grow as readers and writers, and I am looking forward to a wonderful year together.
