My name is Ana Ryan, and I teach seventh grade language arts.

I hold a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Concordia University. I also have endorsements in English as a second language from National Louis University and in gifted education from Aurora University.

I began my teaching career at the Children’s Care and Development Center located in Todd Hall, where I taught Pre-K for 11 years. This is my 18th year teaching in School District 74. Prior to joining Lincoln Hall, I taught third and fourth grade at Rutledge Hall for 17 years. When I'm not teaching, I spend most of my time with my husband, three sons, and extended family and friends.

One of my goals this year is to make learning fun -- while emphasizing that learning is the key word. Students are often motivated to learn when their surroundings boost their self-confidence and help them feel positive about their abilities. An engaging curriculum, along with support and encouragement, can help students discover that learning is enjoyable. Seventh grade will be filled with exciting new information, diverse learning activities, and many positive experiences.

I hope you're as excited as I am for this school year. I’m confident that we’ll work together as a team to make it a rewarding and fun-filled year!
