Rebecca Smoot

 

As Rutledge Hall's instructional coach, I work closely with teachers to support them with goal-setting, utilizing data to inform instruction, and developing strong instructional practices within the classroom. 

 

This will be my fourth year working as an instructional coach. Prior to becoming a coach, I was a classroom teacher for several years. I taught first, third, and fourth grades. Regardless of the role, I have always been passionate about creating spaces where students are excited to learn and grow!

 

I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from James Madison University and a master's degree in educational studies from Johns Hopkins University. 

 

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, reading, and trying new restaurants! I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of learning!
