Hello Parents and Students,
Welcome to Third Grade! My name is Ana Ryan and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher for the 2020 – 2021 school year. I would like to take this brief opportunity to tell you a little about myself, as well as my goals for your children and some of the things your children will be learning in school.
I am a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University. I received my first Master's Degree in Elementary Education and my second Master's Degree in Educational Technology. This will be my 14th year teaching at Rutledge Hall. Prior to teaching 3rd grade, I taught 4th grade for four years and Pre-Kindergarten at Children’s Care and Development Center located in Todd Hall for 11 years. My time away from school is spent with my husband Jim and our sons, JD who is 16, Auston who is going to be 15, and Jordan who is 9.
One of my goals for this year is to ensure that this learning experience is fun- keeping in mind that learning is the keyword. Children are often motivated to learn if their surroundings enhance their self-confidence and they feel positive about their capabilities. An engaging curriculum, along with support and encouragement, will often change the mindset of students to realize that learning is fun. Third Grade will be a year filled with exciting new information, many learning activities, and projects. We will be concentrating on critical thinking skills, which are an advanced mechanism that will help the children the rest of their lives. It is going to be a busy, yet, enjoyable year.
If you ever have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call (847-675-8236) or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope that you are as excited as I am about the school year. I know that we will all work together as a team to make this a rewarding and fun-filled year!
