Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science - University of Chicago; Master of Science in Teaching - University of Chicago; National Board Certified Teacher, Science/Early Adolescence
I have taught at Lincoln Hall for 18 years and have been teaching for 30. While I have taught 5th through 8th grade math and science, my favorite teaching is in 7th grade science. I have my B.A. and M.S.T. from the University of Chicago and am a National Board Certified Teacher in middle school science. Everyone has a sense of wonder about how the world works. I encourage students to apply the disciplines of science, along with their natural sense of wonder, to better understand their world and to learn problem solving in ways that are useful not only in science class, but also in life. As part of this encouragement I help each student complete a science fair project of his/her choice - done at school. Outside of school I enjoy watching my own 10th and 12th grade boys learn and grow. I also like spending summers exploring state and national parks through camping.
