Mrs. Forsell
Welcome to 6th-grade social studies!
I'm so excited to be your teacher this year! I have always had a passion for learning about history and our shared past. While attending college at SMU in Missouri I was a business major and looked forward to opening up a restaurant one day. After several courses, I realized that although I loved cooking, working with students is where my real passion was so I quickly changed gears. I moved back to Chicago and enrolled at Northeastern Illinois University where I graduated with bachelor's degrees in secondary education and history. In addition, I received endorsements in middle school, language arts, anthropology, and sociology.
2020-2021 will be my first year working as a social studies teacher. I have spent the past decade working in education in various roles. Most recently I have worked as district 74's cadre teacher here at Lincoln Hall for the past two years. During this time I have covered various long term leaves in chemistry, psychics, food science, algebra, humanities, and P.E. These experiences have helped me develop into a well-rounded teacher who truly understands what is expected of our middle school students. In my opinion, middle school is the best time period to teach and interact with students. I look forward to meeting my future students and taking a journey together into the distant past!
