Raciti P.E./Health and Fitness

 
The 1st trimester started with our Badminton unit where students were working on their Badminton skills such as serving and volleying along with game play and strategies.
 
We moved to Flag Football and Soccer where students were honing their throwing, catching, and kicking skills and learning the rules and strategies of each sport.  We also introduced The Sport Education Model where students are assign specific roles and responsibilities within their teams such as a head coach, athletic trainer, or cheer coordinator with the hope that all students will feel like they can make contributions to their team and class as a whole!
 
The second trimester of PE, Health, and Fitness, consisted of Basketball, Team Handball, Table Tennis, and Dance.  We have been covering a varitey of topics in Health such as Body systems, Stress Management, and Maintaining Heart Health.
About once a week, students will work out in the Fitness Center and use Polar heart rate monitors to assess individual fitness levels.
Floorball and Spikeball has been introduced and students are looking forward to the upcoming volleyball unit.
We're having fun learning and playing new games and are looking forward to the warm weather to come.
