3...2...1...Blast Off!

This week was really out of this world!  We had a lot of fun learning about outer space.  We enjoyed the books Roaring Rockets by Tony Mitton, Goldilocks and the Three Martians by Stu Smith, Meet the Planets by John McGranaghan, and various nonfiction books.  The children made space helmets and pretended to fly our spaceship.  We also made rockets from our names and our own aliens. On Friday we learned how craters are made on the moon by dropping objects into flour.  All week we played with some fun space toys and made space puzzles.

In our reading lessons this week, we reviewed the concepts we have been talking about the past few weeks.  In our math lessons, we continued to practice recognizing numbers and counting sets up to 10. We played a bowling game and the children counted how many pins they knocked down.

On Thursday we had a PBIS celebration.  The children turned in 10 tickets to attend a fun dance party.  It was a great way to celebrate our hard work!

Next week we will be talking about Dr. Seuss.  We will have planned some fun dress up activities.  Please make sure you check the note that was sent home this week.
