Ribbit, ribbit!

This week we learned about pond life.  We talked about what animals live there and also what plants you might see growing there.  The children worked all week creating a pond, including water, grass, lilly pads, frogs and ducks.  We enjoyed the books In The Small, Small Pond by Denise Fleming, Jump, Frog, Jump by Robert Kalan, The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog by Ana Martin Larranaga, and One Duck Stuck by Phyllis Root.  On Friday we learned the rhyme Five Green and Speckled Frogs.  We hope your child sang it for you at home.  We had a lot of fun playing with frogs, ducks and snacks in the water table, and fishing for letters.  We counted down with the letters I, J, K, L and M by enjoying yummy ice pops for snack, juggling, playing on the kindergarten playground, limboing and listening to music.

Next week we'll be learning all about dinosaurs.  We will continue to countdown with the letters N, O, P, Q and R.
