Thanks to all who stopped by on Tuesday night for Curriculum Night. It was great seeing you. Please let us know if you have any questions.
This week we talked all about colors. We enjoyed the stories Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? By Bill Martin Jr., I Love Colors by Hans Wilhem, Cat’s Colors by Jane Cabrera, and Mouse Paint by Ellen Walsh. We shared our favorite colors and danced to the song Rock Your Body to the Colors by Jack Hartmann. The children were introduced to watercolor paints, scissors and glue sticks. We continued to practice all the new procedures and rules we have been learning. It was a busy week!
We started our first math lessons. We will be learning about different attributes over the next few weeks. This week we focused on using colors to describe objects. We also started our first writing lessons. The children learned the names for the wood pieces (big line, small line, big curve and small curve) that we will use to make letters and shapes later this year.
Next week we'll be reading the Pete the Cat stories. These are always a favorite in Pre-K!
