This week we talked all about fall. We discussed changes in the leaves, the weather, and the animals. We enjoyed the books Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert, The Leaves on the Trees by Thom Wiley, and Nuts To You by Lois Ehlert. The children used watercolor paint to make some beautiful fall colored leaves. We also made a cute squirrel peeking out of a tree. All week the children compared and investigated real leaves and pinecones in the water table. For our STEM lesson this week, Mr. Edman challenged us to build a free standing tree with popsicle sticks and play-doh, and get some leaves to stick back on the tree.
Thank you to all who joined us for our Halloween Party on Wednesday. We had so much fun parading and celebrating the holiday. The children all looked great in their costumes as well.
On Friday we had a great trip to Emily Oaks Nature Center. The children enjoyed exploring the trails looking for leaves and animals. Of course the highlight was getting to play in the fun park after our walk. Thanks to all the chaperones who joined us for the trip.
This week we will be exploring the topic ALL ABOUT ME. The children love sharing about themselves. We are asking for a family picture from each of you to share and hang up in the room.
You should have received the link to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences. I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss the progress your child in making in Pre-k. If none of the times work or if you would prefer a morning time (8:00), please let me know.
