May Board of Education Meeting Recognizes Students Past and Present
The agenda for the May Board of Education meeting included several opportunities to recognize the accomplishments of Lincolnwood School District 74 students past and present.
When individuals arrived at the Lincolnwood Village Hall, they entered a gallery of over 100 pieces of artwork. These drawings, paintings, and sculptures were created by students at all grade levels and represented different media in art. The artwork displayed an exceptional level of creativity and attention to detail. We thank our Art Department - Mrs. Kovacs, Mrs. Wielgosz, and Mrs. Yanchuk for their efforts in putting the art show together. Student work will be on display through May 25th at the Lincolnwood Village Hall located at 6900 Lincoln Ave.
Four Lincolnwood School District 74 alumni, Noah O., Heba M., Porter H., and Caitlin A., were named the recipients of the 2023 John Cahill Community Scholarship. These outstanding young adults have achieved a great deal both in the classroom and in the greater Lincolnwood community. Each of the recipients will receive a $500 scholarship toward their post-secondary education. Congratulations to our wonderful alumni!
Finally, cast members from the Lincoln Hall musical, The Little Mermaid, Jr., were joined by co-directors, Mrs. Sterba and Ms. Reynolds, to provide attendees with a sneak peak at the show that will debut on May 19th. The group sang and danced through several numbers from the full performance. It is sure to be a wonderful show! There will be a performance at 7:00 p.m. on May 19th. Saturday, May 20th, will have two shows (2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.) Limited tickets are still available through May 12th. Check the SD74 website (sd74.org) for more information.
