e-Learning Day - Tuesday, Jan. 16

Dear Lincolnwood SD74 families,

Due to frigid temperatures and below-freezing wind chills predicted for tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 16, the District will hold an e-Learning Day. Our schools will be closed for in-person instruction, and we will implement the e-Learning Plan that has been referenced in Tuesday Newsday in recent weeks.

Below are several reminders about that plan. The full plan can be found here.

There will be weather events where circumstances call for a traditional snow day and others where an e-Learning Day can be used to maintain the continuity of instruction. e-Learning Days count as regular school days and do not need to be made up at the end of the school year.
The schedules for all grades, PK-8, are outlined here

By 8:45 a.m.

  • Todd Hall - Parents will receive a video conferencing link from teachers via email.
  • Rutledge Hall - Students will receive a video conferencing link from teachers via Google Classroom.
  • Lincoln Hall - Students will receive grade-level video conferencing links from teachers via student email.

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Assignments will be communicated verbally or posted on each school’s Learning Management System (SeeSaw - TH, Google Classroom - RH, or Schoology - LH).  Students are expected to submit assignments per teacher direction. Teachers may also contact individual or small groups of students during this time block for live video conferencing sessions for small group instruction, intervention, or related services (speech, OT/PT, etc.). Students or families needing assistance can reach out to teachers via email.
2:45 p.m.
  • The day ends for all students.
Teachers will take attendance in PowerSchool during live video conferencing instruction in accordance with regular school day procedures. Parents/guardians should email an excused absence for their child(ren) to their respective school office assistant.
